Durban Poison lab report
For Durban Poison, the sharpest split is market-specific: 43% of all flower tests met 20% THC, but 63% did in Maryland versus 15% in Michigan.1
Key findings
- The 20% THC threshold split sharply by state: 63% of Maryland tests met it, compared with 15% in Michigan.1
- In terpene tests, terpinolene led 67%, while β-caryophyllene led 22%; nearly all of those terpene tests came from Nevada.1
- The nearest terpene-profile matches were Super Lemon Haze, Trainwreck and Jack Herer, at 86%, 85% and 79% overlap.1
- By median THC, Durban Poison landed 42nd of 58, and its middle-half range of 4.66 points was comparatively narrow.1
- Higher-THC Durban Poison tests had more total terpenes: 2.80% versus 1.60% across the upper and lower THC thirds.1
- Shelf data put Durban Poison high on menus: 472 store listings for its flower in 19 markets, 7th within our tracked set.2
Where is Durban Poison most likely over 20% THC?
Durban Poison was most likely over 20% THC in Maryland, where 63% of tests met that mark; overall, 43% of 528 flower tests reached 20% or more, 5.5% reached 25% or more, and 0% reached 30%.1
The state split is large: 63% of Maryland tests met 20% or more across 123 tests, versus 15% in Michigan across 91; medians were 21.23% and 17.47%.1 Growers, labs and testing rules vary by state, so that gap is not only a strain signal.

Do online THC figures for Durban Poison match tests?
Mostly, yes: Durban Poison's outside THC figures sit near the lab middle, with one of the two single published values above the 19.45% lab median rather than far above it.1 For ILGM's 20%, 43% of lab tests were at that level or higher, equal to about 4 in 10.1,3
Among ranges, the 15–25% range from Weedmaps had the broadest lab fit, covering 87%, while the 15–22% range from High Times covered 68%.1,4,5
For Leafly, the lower single value, 19%, still cleared the bar in 56% of lab results, or about 6 in 10.1,6 A published web figure cannot identify the contents of one package; that requires the COA for that batch.

Does terpinolene lead Durban Poison terpene tests?
Yes: for Durban Poison, terpinolene led the terpene list in 67% of 236 detailed flower tests, while β-caryophyllene led 22% and limonene led 8.1%, so the lead is strong but not unanimous.1
Leafly names terpinolene as dominant, and the tests agree: it led in 67% of terpene tests.1,6 High Times also names terpinolene as dominant, and the tests agree: it led in 67%.1,5
Nevada supplied 223 of the 236 terpene tests, so these lead shares mainly describe flower tested there.1
| Terpene | Tests where it led | Share of tests |
|---|---|---|
| Terpinolene | 157 | 67% |
| β-caryophyllene | 51 | 22% |
| Limonene | 19 | 8.1% |

Which strain is least like Durban Poison in terpenes?
The least similar terpene profile to Durban Poison was Tropicana Cherry at 26% overlap, while the closest lab-chemistry neighbors were Super Lemon Haze at 86%, Trainwreck at 85% and Jack Herer at 79%.1
The nearest strains are also typically led by terpinolene, while Tropicana Cherry has β-caryophyllene as its lead terpene.1 Method: summarize eight terpenes by median level, recast them as fractions of their combined terpene total, and count the overlap; identical mixes score 100. A strain entered this comparison only with 30 or more tests that include terpene detail.1 This is a chemistry comparison only, not a prediction of how a strain will feel.
| Strain | Overlap | Lead terpene (by median) | Tests with terpenes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super Lemon Haze | 86% | Terpinolene | 468 |
| Trainwreck | 85% | Terpinolene | 139 |
| Jack Herer | 79% | Terpinolene | 415 |
| Cherry Diesel | 68% | Terpinolene | 35 |
| Purple Haze | 49% | Limonene | 81 |
| Tropicana Cherry (least similar) | 26% | β-caryophyllene | 61 |

How much do Durban Poison THC results vary by lab?
For Durban Poison THC, qualifying lab medians vary by 4.42 points, with Lab D (Michigan, 29 tests) at the low end at 17.10% and Lab B (Maryland, 115) at the high end at 21.52%.1 The comparison includes the five labs with at least 20 tests.1
Because each lab tested its own supplier mix, the 4.42 points spread alone cannot show that a masked lab is biased high or low.1 On this page the lab letters are placeholders, with Lab A assigned to the biggest test count; names appear in the downloadable test file.

State-level checks matched the overall pattern in 2 of 2 qualifying states: Nevada up and Maryland up.1 In Nevada, the terpene median was 1.60% in the lower-THC third and 2.21% in the higher-THC third.1 Total terpenes measure aroma compounds by weight; they do not say how Durban Poison will feel.
| Tests from | Tests | Lowest-THC third | Highest-THC third |
|---|---|---|---|
| All states | 355 | 1.60% | 2.80% |
| Nevada | 223 | 1.60% | 2.21% |
| Maryland | 119 | 1.67% | 3.28% |
